26/09/2002 (Agence Europe) - The Council adopted its common position on the modification of Directive 83/477/EEC on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to asbestos at work. The amendment mainly aims to introduce a single-limit value for workers' exposure (less than 0.1 fibre/cm3 over eight hours), as opposed to two-limit values under the existing Directive (EUROPE of 20 July, 2001).
