Ernani Lopes represents government

Lisbon, 14/05/2002 (Agence Europe) - According to a press release from Portuguese Foreign minister Anotnio Martins da Cruz, the new Head of the Portuguese Government, Jose Manuel Durao Barroso has chosen Ernani Lopes as his representative in the European Convention, instead of Joao de Vallera. Ernani Lopes, who was finance minister from 1983 to 1985, was one of Portugal's negotiators for Portugal's membership of the European Community.
