Commission adopts correcting letter to meet needs of European data protection supervisor and SIS II

Brussels, 26/09/2001 (Agence Europe) - As announced in EUROPE of 26 September, p.12, the European Commission adopted, on Wednesday, a letter of amendment to the 2002 preliminary draft budget to meet the following needs: (1) staff for the newly created European Data Protection Supervisor; (2) the development of the new Schengen Information System II (SIS 11). The changes to the preliminary draft budget are necessary for including additional expenditure of EUR 1.793 million.
