Aid to combat meningitis epidemic

Brussels, 29/06/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved 1.6 million euros of aid for Chad and Burkina Faso. The aid, managed by the humanitarian aid office ECHO, will enable its partner organisations to fight these epidemics for the next six months and prevent its resurgence in other households, according to a Commission communication.

The communication specifies that: - in Chad, Doctors without Borders-Belgium are organising a vaccination campaign for over 2 million...
