Commission awards environmental prizes to twelve young EU citizens

Brussels, 30/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - Margot Wallström, European Commissioner for the Environment, awarded 12 young EU citizens on Friday evening for their efforts in a competition that is part of the Green Week initiative (see EUROPE of 21 April, p. 7) concentrating on environmental issues. The competition had five categories (painting, story writing, speech writing, photography and video) and was designed to harness young people's creative power. The winning entries, on display...
