ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) energy

The Spanish groups ENDESA (electricity) and REPSOL-YPF has sold to EDF - ELECTRICITE DE FRANCE, the 40.19% stake and 9.62% they held in the Argentinean company EDENOR (net results in 2000 of 90.3 million pesos), for $627.6 million. Already a 32% stake-holder in EDENOR, the French group now has a 81.8% stake. EDENOR distributes electricity in Buenos Aires and has 2.26 million customers. See EI of 28 February.
