30/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - During a conference in Paris on 3 and 4 May, a new Phare project will be launched to help candidate countries of Central and Eastern Europe adopt and implement acquis communautaire in the complex field of external border controls, immigration and visa policies. The project, which will have EUR 3 million allocated to it (from the horizontal Phare programme 1999), will be administered and coordinated by the French Ministry of the Interior.
