The British on-line directory site SCOOT.COM (£8.9 million turnover for the year 2000, which counted 15 months) has rejected an informal offer from the French firm VIVENDI UNIVERSAL regarded as "totally inadequate". At 15 pence a share, VIVENDI UNIVERSAL's offer, which already has a 22% stake in SCOOT.COM, valued the company at £130 million.
