Fifteen and Commission still divided over key aspects of reform in sugar sector

Brussels, 06/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The debate of the Special Agriculture Committee (SAC) last Monday on reform of the sugar sector came to a sudden end because of continued divergence between the Fifteen, the European Commission and the Swedish Presidency, mainly on the length of extension of the system, but also concerning the system of reimbursement of storage costs and production quotas.
