ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) chemicals

The German group DEGUSSA will sell its subsidiary PHENOLCHEMIE (turnover of EUR 1.2 billion in 2000 with 700 employees in Germany and a unit in the United States), the largest manufacturer in the world of phenols and acetone, to the British group IENOS, thus following its strategy aiming to sell its stakes that are not part of its main activities (specialist chemicals).
