06/04/2001 (Agence Europe) - The High Representative for CFSP Javier Solana, who was on Thursday in Moscow to prepare the EU/Russia Summit on 17 May, indicated to the press that the European Union would like, on this occasion, talk with Russia over "issues concerning crisis management". "We have several concrete proposals on how to continue working together" on this, said Mr Solana, after having met Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov and the new Defence Minister, Sergei Ivanov. Igor Ivanov felt that the high level of cooperation reached with the EU under French and Swedish Presidencies would be maintained in future. We recall that, since the EU/Russia summit held in Paris last year, the European Union and Moscow has decided to develop their dialogue also on security issues.
