The Norwegian group NORSKE SKOG (NOK 26.6 bn turnover) is to take control of its Canadian rival PACIFICA PAPERS (turnover of close to NOK 5 bn, with a workforce of 1,800) through an exchange of shares through its 51% Canadian subsidiary NORSKE SKOG CANADA. The shareholders of PACIFICA PAPERS will receive either 2.1 shares in NORSKA SKOG CANADA for each of their own or one share and Canadian $7.5 cash.
