The German group BMW is considering opening a factory in China, in partnership with the Chinese BRILLIANCE GROUP. If the project comes to fruition, the two partners will create a joint venture with equal stakes in Shenyang that will be responsible for the establishment of the factory. The joint venture will initially produce from 8,000 to 10,000 models per year.
