Brussels, 06/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has decided to extend its current inquiry on French State aid to Corsica Marittima to its parent company, the Société Nationale Corse Méditerranée. It plans to verify whether the subsidies paid since 1990 to SNCM, to offset its public service obligations for the service between Corsica and the French ports, served to finance at a loss Corsica Marittima, which assures the link between Corsica and Italy.
