The French diversified industrial group LEGRIS INDUSTRIES sold the cranes company POTAIN to the American MANITOWOC COMPANY for EUR 344 million in cash to which will be added the net profit recorded by POTAIN between the first January and the actual sale date. POTAIN recorded a consolidated turnover of EUR 287 million in 2000, which corresponds to around one third of the total turnover (or EUR 715.2 million).
