Brussels, 06/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - This Wednesday the European Commission should adopt its report presenting a global and in-depth assessment of the implementation by the Member States, in 2000, of the Broad Economic Policy Guidelines (BEPG). This is the second report since the launch of the Euro and since the Helsinki European Council that specified and reinforced the economic coordination process within the EMU (see EUROPE of 15 March 2000). The report is formed of two parts, one covers the situation of the EU 15, the other details that of each Member State. It will act as a basis for the preparation of broad guidelines for 2001, whose adoption is scheduled for next 25 April.
