After sinking of Ievoli Sun, France calls on European Commission to rapidly present new maritime safety measures

Brussels, 02/11/2000 (Agence Europe) - After the sinking of the Italian chemical transport ship Ievoli Sun in the Channel, the French President, Jacques Chirac, and the Transport Minister, Jean-Claude Gayssot, called on their European partners to make an effort for the maritime safety measures proposed last March by the Commission to be rapidly adopted by the Transport Council.
