Commission is bringing Luxembourg before Court of Justice for persistent non-respect of the legislation on the elimination and transfer of waste

Brussels, 18/10/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission decided to cross the formal stage in the infringement procedure started against Luxembourg for non-respect of Community legislation concerning the transfer of waste. This Member State will be brought before the Court of Justice (third stage in the procedure under Article 226 of the Treaty) for having unduly refused to authorise the elimination of waste in a French incinerator equipped with an energy recuperation installation.
