Rise of industrial crops and decline of cereals change agricultural landscape

Luxembourg, 23/08/2000 (Agence Europe) - There were almost 75 million hectares of arable land in the EU15 in 1997, that is 57% of the utilised agricultural area (UAA). While the area under arable crops has remained broadly stable over the last twenty years, its distribution has undergone marked changes.
