26/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Committee on Social Rights, made up of independent experts responsible for assessing the legal conformity of the situation of Member States in the Council of Europe with the European Social Charter, published last 20 July its conclusions on Ireland, the Netherlands (including the Dutch Antilles) and Poland, whose national reports it examined between May and June 2000 (the conclusions relating to Germany and Luxembourg will be published next October, those of other EU Member States were in April 2000). For Ireland, the Netherlands and Poland, the Committee examined 83 national situations: in 49 case, it felt that the situation was in accordance with the Charter, in 15 cases, it called upon the State concerned to provide additional information before making a ruling, in 19 cases, it felt that the situation was not in accordance with the Charter.
