26/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European social NGO platform, in reaction tot he action programme proposed by the Commission to fight social exclusion called to: 1) create a monitoring centre for poverty and social exclusion, 2) increase the budget aimed at the programme as the present proposal is far from corresponding to the needs. The platform, the most effective way of fighting against social exclusion at the present time, makes up a central contribution to the creation of a European Union that is more representative of society and only a legally binding Charter that will adopt all the civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights would be an adequate response to the citizens expectations and all those who live in Europe.
