Brussels, 26/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The EU Council modified the regulation instituting a final anti-dumping duty on certain imports of simple palettes from Poland. The new regulation, published in the Official Journal N° L/75 notably foresees to apply to eight additional companies the reduced duty agreed upon to those who have co-operated in the initial investigation, or 6.3% instead of 10.6%. the negotiators have in fact shown: that they are not exported to the Community nor produce the wood palettes in question, that they have no relations with the companies incriminated, that the started their exports towards the EU after the investigation period or, for some, that they undertook in an permanent manner by contract to export a significant quantity towards the EC. However, the reduced duty does not apply to six exporters that have undertaken to contribute to the elimination of the prejudice caused by the unfair practices to their European competitors. Furthermore, two other Polish producers whose undertakings have been accepted by the European Commission no longer produce the palettes in question.
