Brussels, 26/07/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission approved the creation of a joint venture between the German companies Asean Brown Boveri AG (ABB), subsidiary of the Swedish group ABB, Bilfinger+Berger BOT GmbH, and MVV Energie AG that will develop, build and manage equipment for the distribution of water and the removal of waste water outside Germany. The new company will be present on the emerging markets and will be responsible, more particularly, for long-term contracts for the industrial management of factories specialised in this kind of service. After its routine investigation, the Commission felt that the new company would be sufficiently in competition with other companies active in the same field such as Vivendi, Suez Lyonnais des Eaux and Thames Water Plc.
