FABIUS CONFIRMS THAT FRANCE WILL PROPOSE STRENGTHENING OF THIS BODY, FOR "DIALOGUE WITH THE EUROPEAN CENTRAL BANK" - GREEK PARTICIPATION STARTING IN JULY

Luxembourg, 05/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - "Little by little is being created a truly valuable economic and monetary culture." It was in these terms that French Finance Minister Laurent Fabius summarised on Monday the previous evening's meeting of the Euro Group. For Mr Fabius, this group "is increasingly asserting itself as a very interesting body", which is indispensable because "as the euro asserts itself, there is a need for a body that can hold dialogue with the European Central Bank"....
