Brussels, 05/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission adopted a technical proposal for establishing the definitive volume of anchovy catches (TACs) in the year 2000 in the Bay of Biscay. A decision on this issue must be made as soon as possible to allow anchovy fishing activities to be continued as they are particularly important for Spain and France but also, to a lesser extent, for Portugal, while ensuring stocks are not depleted.
