ACP states propose signing of new partnership agreement in Benin before 30 June

Brussels, 02/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - Acting by consensus (i.e. without holding a vote) at a meeting of their Committee of Ambassadors on Friday, the ACP states chose Benin as the venue for the signature of the new partnership agreement between the ACP countries and the EU. The accord is expected to be signed before 30 June.

The EU Council Presidency (Portugal) was immediately informed of the choice. The EU is not expected to oppose this decision, even if the two parties must obviously...
