ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) paper

The Swedish firm SCA (7.73 bn euro annual turnover) and HOLMEN are to sell their joint-venture MODO PAPERS (annual turnover of 2.44 bn euro) to the Finnish METSA-SERLA (annual turnover of 4.24 bn euro) for SEK 6.5 bn (debts included). As a counterpart, METSA-SERLA will sell its 65% stake in METSA-SERLA TISSUES and METSA CORRUGATED, its corrugated cardboard packaging branch. These assets are worth 295 and 200 million euro respectively..
