ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) computer technology

Britain's INVENSYS (pre-tax profits of £66 million for the 1999-2000 financial year) is to make a friendly 762 million euro bid for the Dutch software editor BAAN (682.5 million euro turnover in 1999), offering 2.85 euro a share. Through this operation, the "software" branch of INVENSYS will now have an average annual turnover of $2 bn.
