Association agreement enters into force, Association Council to hold its first political dialogue meeting on 13 June

Brussels, 02/06/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Euro-Mediterranean Association Agreement between the EU and Israel entered into force on 1 June, as announced by EUROPE (10 May, p. 13, in an article summarising its content). It will be implemented immediately: the first meeting of the Association Council on "political dialogue" is slated for 13 June, with the participation of Israeli Foreign Minister Mr David Levy.
