Commission follows infraction proceedings against Belgium and Luxembourg for non-respect of European Directives on waste

Brussels, 17/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Commission announced that it will begin infraction proceedings against Belgium and Luxembourg who persist in not fully conforming with Community legislation relating to waste. These two Member States will receive a motivated opinion (second step in the procedure under Article 266 of the Treaty after the sending of a letter of formal notice) for the following reasons:
