ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) textiles

The nylon textile producer NYLSTAR (turnover around EUR 600 million in 1999 with 3,600 employed), an equally owned joint venture between French RHODIA and Italian SNIA, has acquired the American polyamide thread manufacturer AMFIBE (turnover $11 million in 1999). The amount and the arrangements of the acquisition have not been stated. With this move, NYLSTAR will become the second largest company in this sector worldwide.
