Brussels, 17/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the Commission launched the "Business Feedback Mechanism" aimed at analysing requests made by companies to 41 Euro-Info-Centres relating to the working of the Internal Market. The Commission hopes to highlight the practical problems which are caused to companies for future policy making. The result will be available on-line. These 41 centres have been selected from among 300 of this kind which provide information, advisory services and assistance to companies on EU-related themes, such as public procurement, electronic commerce, intellectual property rights and environmental regulations. In a press release, the Commission specifies that the Business Feedback Mechanism will help to fulfil the request made by the European Council of Lisbon to "pay particular attention to the impact and compliance costs of new proposals" and "pursue their Dialogue with business and Citizens with this in mind". This project comes within the e-Commission initiative, which aims to develop electronic feedback systems to cover the full range of EU activities.
