Parliament calls for measures to combat noise pollution close to airports

Strasbourg, 17/04/2000 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption, by 78 in favour and one abstention, a joint resolution by six political groups (EPP-ED PES, ELDR, V/Ale, GUE/NGL and UEN) on night flights and noise pollution close to airports, the European Parliament stresses the need to adopt at Community level a coherent and coordinated approach, with a view to avoiding competition distorsion, which could result in the application of unilateral measures.
