The Finnish-Swedish group STORAENSO (10.6 bn euro turnover in 1999 with 40,000 employees) has announced the purchase of the American company CONSOLIDATED PAPERS (1.84 bn euro turnover in 1999, with 6,800 employees) for 4.9 bn euro.
