Finish firm Fortum may take control of Elektrizitatswerk Wesertal in Lower-Saxony

Brussels, 06/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has given the go-ahead to Fortum Power and Heat's takeover of Elektrizitatswerk Wesertal, Hamlen, regional electricity company active in a number of Landkreise in Lower Saxony. Fortum, formed from the merger of Neste and Ivo, produces and distributes electricity in Finland and Sweden.
