06/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The UN Security Council, Chaired in January 2000 by the United States' Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, held its first meeting of the year Wednesday afternoon. Five new non-permanent members have taken their place (instead of Brazil, Slovenia, Gabon, Gambia and Bahrain), they are Ukraine, Tunisia, Mali, Bangladesh and Jamaica.
