Paris, 06/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The Centre d'Etudes et the Recherches Internationales (CERI) of political sciences is organising a conference in Paris on 31 January on "The European Union enlargement to the Nordic Countries: impacts and perceptions".
Following an introduction by Johann Aucante, a CERI PhD student, talks will revolve around the following topics: - Popular elite and Nationalism: Changing attitudes of the Danes towards integration and opting-outs?; - Inside-out: Norwegian Economic Policy on the Margins of Europe; - the state of Nordic cooperation in a changing Europe; - Assessing and recasting European integration: Social-Democratic sweden and the representations of EMU; - strengthened parliamentary accountability: The impact of the EU on Finnish politics.
Among the speakers will be Christian Lequesne, CERI Deputy-Director and andre Grjebine, also of CERI, as well as Anna Michalski, of the Commission's forward planning cell, Ulf Hedetoft of Alborg University, Denmark, Jonathon W. Moses of Trondheim University, Norway, Matti Wiberg, of Turku University, Finland, and Vicent Simoulin, of the University of Toulous, France.
