Agreement on exposure limits for hazardous substances makes no provision for aircraft engine exhaust emissions

25/06/2026 (Agence Europe) – Contrary to what we wrote in our 24 June edition (see EUROPE 13895/22), the EU co-legislators did not reach agreement, as regards the sixth revision of the directive on carcinogens, mutagens and reprotoxic substances, on a recital concerning aircraft engine exhaust emissions. This recital invited the Commission to monitor all available scientific and technical evidence with a view to amending the directive, but it was deleted from the final text at the EU Council’s request, a source told Agence Europe.
