France becomes first Member State to test ‘BRIDGEforEU’ instrument

25/06/2026 (Agence Europe)The European Commission has selected the pilot project led by France for implementation of the cross-border ‘BRIDGEforEU’ instrument, the French Minister Delegate for Europe, Benjamin Haddad, announced on Tuesday 23 June at a general meeting of the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT). France will be the first State to test this instrument, which is intended to gather and relay the difficulties encountered by Europe’s cross-border regions. It is based on the creation of a one-stop shop at national level and cross-border coordination points, making it possible to gather difficulties encountered on the ground and facilitate their handling. The trial, rolled out by the National Agency for Territorial Cohesion (ANCT) in coordination with the MOT, will first be tested at the French-German border. (JV)
