At a press conference held on Tuesday 24 March at its headquarters in The Hague, the EU’s police cooperation agency (Europol) officially inaugurated its new ‘European Centre Against Migrant Smuggling’ (ECAMS), which aims to step up and modernise the fight against smuggling networks.
