European Commission is ready to take legal action against Slovakian measure on diesel prices, which discriminates against foreign vehicles

24/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – The Slovakian measure charging higher diesel prices to owners of vehicles registered outside Slovakia is “highly discriminatory and against European Union law”, said Ricardo Cardoso, a spokesman for the European Commission, on Tuesday 24 March.
