06/02/26 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 6 February, the European Commission proposed to mobilise €1.9 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for displaced workers (EGF) to help 416 employees made redundant following the bankruptcy of the Casa interior design company in Belgium, and €1.8 million to help 420 employees made redundant by the KTM motorbike manufacturer in Austria. These funds will help these workers acquire new skills and re-enter the labour market through career guidance, job search support, training and training allowances. According to the latest EEMF activity report, more than eight out of ten redundant employees (81%) found a new job within 18 months of receiving EEMF support, says the Commission in a press release.
