At the third EU-Armenia high-level political and security dialogue, held in Yerevan on Tuesday 3 February, the European Union welcomed Armenia’s growing alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy positions and its “constant commitment” to international security issues. “The EU would encourage this rapprochement to be strengthened”, stressed the European External Action Service in a press release.
During the dialogue, the two parties reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening cooperation and harmonising foreign, security and defence policies.
They also noted the entry into force on 1 January 2026 of the Framework Agreement on the participation of Armenia in EU crisis management missions and operations (https://aeur.eu/f/kmh ) and underlined the EU’s “valuable” contributions to Armenia’s resilience and security.
The EU and Armenia also discussed hybrid, cyber and information threats and agreed to continue their cooperation to combat malicious interference in Armenia’s democratic processes.
