06/02/26 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 4 February, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) approved an amendment of the harmonised maximum and minimum clearing price (HMMCP) methodologies for the EU ‘day-ahead and intraday electricity market’ coupling. A proposal to this effect had been made by the nominated electricity market operators (NEMOs) in August 2025. [The agency explains that] market coupling “allocates scarce cross-zonal transmission grid capacity efficiently”. By amending the methodologies, ACER wants to clarify how the automatic price adjustment mechanism applies in rare market conditions. As a result of ACER’s decision, NEMOs are now required to promptly implement the amendments. To see more details: https://aeur.eu/f/kmb (PLD)
