16/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – In a resolution tabled by Céline Imart (EPP, French), the European Parliament endorsed, on Tuesday 16 December, by a large majority (585 votes in favour, 34 against, 45 abstentions) the European Commission’s proposal to grant Jordan a fifth macro-financial assistance package worth €500 million to help the country consolidate its public finances and meet its external financial needs (see EUROPE 13694/22). Granted on preferential terms (possible moratorium on repayment, maturity of up to 35 years), this loan will be distributed in three instalments over a period of two and a half years, between 2025 and 2027. It will be conditional on structural reforms and respect for democratic principles and standards. To see the European Parliament resolution: https://aeur.eu/f/k0p (MB)
