28/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On the evening of Monday, 27 October, the spokesperson for the European External Action Service condemned the Israeli attack that, “[once] again”, targeted a detachment of the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in Lebanon the previous day. “This is the latest in a series of similar incidents in recent weeks,” he decried in a statement. On Sunday, Israel - which has accused UNIFIL of deliberately shooting down one of its intelligence drones - targeted a UNIFIL patrol. The spokesperson reiterated that the safety and security of United Nations premises and personnel must be ensured in accordance with international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701. He added that all parties must fully respect the ceasefire of 26 November 2024 and that Israel must withdraw from all Lebanese territory. (CG)
