16/10/25 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 15 October, members of the European Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly adopted a resolution rejecting the agreement reached between the EU and the United States in July on tariffs (see EUROPE 13689/1). As the agreement is non-binding and has no separate legal basis, it is not subject to approval by the Council of the EU or the European Parliament. However, the French deputies are calling on their government to assert the mixed nature of the agreement, which must be ratified unanimously by the EU Member States.
