Pets are not excluded from the concept of ‘baggage’, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) ruled in a judgment handed down on Thursday 16 October (case C-218/24).

In Spain, a passenger has asked the Iberia airline to compensate her for the moral harm she suffered after losing her dog on a flight from Buenos Aires to Barcelona.
