03/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 2 October, the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced that the European Union was sending an Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Honduras to observe the legislative elections on Sunday 30 November, in response to an invitation from the Honduran authorities. The mission, which will be led by Francisco Assis MEP (S&D, Portuguese), will comprise eleven experts who will arrive in Tegucigalpa on Saturday 11 October, 32 long-term observers and 38 short-term observers. An European Parliament delegation and diplomats from the embassies of EU Member States present in Honduras, as well as from partner countries, will be joining the mission shortly before the election date.
