EU mobilises to combat Ebola epidemic in Democratic Republic of the Congo

On Friday 3 October, the European Commission announced measures to support the fight against the Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which has a mortality rate of around 66% (42 deaths out of 60 cases).

There is an urgent need to allow medical experts access to the affected areas so that they can provide a health response to stop the spread of the virus.
